How long has it been since you had the chance to play?

We are all born with the urge to explore and the curiosity to discover. We are creative spirits with the desire to express. Often, we forget our playful nature in the course of life’s stressors.

By carefully and reverently unwinding the stories that brought us out of this state, we can embody the creative beings that we are. It is in this childlike state that we find ourselves, our voice, and our contribution to the world.

Ancestral Spirituality: Access The Past to Inform The Present

Ancestral Spirituality: Access The Past to Inform The Present

Each of us has a deep ancestral history that preceded us. Sometimes this history is murky and mysterious, other times it is present in echoes in our personal and family lives. In this workshop, we explore how to excavate the wisdom and tradition of our personal ancestral past to discover a deeper and richer way of relating to ourselves, our predecessors, and our world.

Re-Learning the Art of Play

Re-Learning the Art of Play

At one time, we all naturally pursued play without self-consciousness. Driven by our curiosity, we engaged with the world without conceptualizing, labeling, or judging our experience. As we’ve grown into rational beings, many of us have lost this innate ability to follow the strings of our playful desires for the simple joy of it. In this workshop, we lightheartedly engage in gentle practices for reawakening these sleepy neural grooves that were once so integral to our being, opening ourselves up to a new way of relating to life and self that is inherently, reverently playful.

05:30 AM - 06:30 AM
Ayurveda & The Feminine

Ayurveda & The Feminine

Ayurveda, translated from Sanskrit as “the science of life”, is a deep and artful tool for discovering the profundity of the body, the mind, and the psycho-emotional self. It is a medium for realizing health in the highest sense and for understanding our relationship to nature through the nature inherent in us.

Careless Joy Women’s Retreat

Careless Joy Women’s Retreat

Women are the backbone of their families, the supporters of their friends, the unseen emotional laborers in the workplace and the world at large. During this retreat at the Pigeon Point Lighthouse in Pescadero, we will shed all of these roles and simply become sisters again.

11:00 AM - Sun, Mar 8, 2020 1:00 PM
The Whole Man & The Hero Archetype

The Whole Man & The Hero Archetype

The archetypal hero has come to dominate our collective imaginations, from Ayn Rand to contemporary superhero films. Boys and young men are raised with this predominant view of the masculine role to the extent that other masculine archetypes are eclipsed, ignored, or forgotten. In this workshop, we hold space for the hurt caused by this one-dimensional view of the masculine and explore a deeper, richer understanding of what the masculine archetypes have to offer.

6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Sensual Shadow Integration

Sensual Shadow Integration

Our sensual side is, in many ways, the mature version of our playful aspect. Just as our natural impulse for play becomes subdued throughout the course of life, so too does our sensuality find few avenues for safe expression. In this workshop, we move through gentle exercises to explore what it feels like to evoke our sensual selves in a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment of women.
